The Vacancy

Looking for a market research role that makes a difference to society?

Want to help improve experiences provided by the UK’s largest attractions or investigate how households could change their behaviour to improve the UK’s rivers? Or perhaps you would like to evaluate how new housing developments might impact local communities, or research the views of the homeless to help improve their chances of a better life? Then you might fit right in.

The Company

Qa Research, a York based social and market research agency, is looking to recruit a key member of its Research Team.

Qa has a wide client base, with major clients in local government, utilities, travel & tourism, healthcare, charities and government departments, across the public and private sectors.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and confident quantitative research professional with at least 5 years’ experience, some of which will probably have been gained working for a similar agency.

An in-depth understanding of quantitative approaches/techniques and their application to meet the needs of clients is essential. You’ll have a thorough understanding of how to analyse data using data tables and multi-variate outputs produced by our in-house and external data analysts. You’ll also have extensive experience of leading on analysis and reporting based on quant data.

We need you to lead projects for some of our most high profile clients with minimum supervision and to work closely with the Research Team Director to ensure our quantitative offer remains innovative and attractive to clients at all times.

To do this you’ll need the ability to manage multiple projects at once, great inter-personal skills, a positive and inventive approach to research, client relationship management experience and excellent written English as well as an engaging presenting style.

You will be required to undertake occasional travel throughout the UK and you’ll need a full UK driving licence.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be committed and adaptable, with a solid understanding of how to apply quantitative research in the right ways to meet the needs of clients. You’ll have experience of responding to briefs by writing proposals and all stages of project delivery including questionnaire writing, project management and working with data analysts to produce outputs so you can analyse quantitative data and produce reports/presentations.

You will hold a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have outstanding written English skills that align with the need to write proposals and reports. You’ll enjoy interpreting and drawing conclusions from numerical data and be motivated by creating and implementing research solutions, using research to generate insight to meet clients’ objectives.

A good sense of humour, resilience and honesty will underlie everything you do along with a professional demeanour and working style.

In return, Qa offers a friendly working environment based at a great location in the city centre, where the research team is afforded a good degree of autonomy to work on our varied and prestigious work load. As a full service agency we have all processes in-house to enable us to deliver top quality quantitative research.
