Richard has a passion for research and the way it can unite people as well as bring about positive change.

He takes great professional and personal pleasure in developing long-term sustainable relationships which promote effective social policy development at local and national level.

Keen for staff to actively support policy makers through effective and robust research, Richard also strongly encourages award submissions which showcase the impact of this work and the depth of talent at Qa.

Underpinned by professional research skills and backed by Richard, Qa has reached the finals of the MRS Research Excellence and Effectiveness Awards three times since he became MD.

In 2008 the company won the MRS Public Policy/Social Research award for its work with young offenders.

This research is set to have a considerable impact on public policy development and promises to revolutionise how the criminal justice system works.

Twelve months later and Qa was once again in the running for the Public Policy/Social Research accolade, this time for its research with young care leavers.

Richard takes enormous personal pride in leading an award winning team which he believes can go to achieve even greater things.

Responsible for Business Development before joining the Board, Richard became managing director in 2006.
