DCSF awards large-scale telephone research contract to Qa
Monday, 18 May 2009 00:00
The Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) recently commissioned Qa to evaluate its Links into Languages Programme.
Running from April 2009 to at least March 2011, Links into Languages is a network of nine regional centres delivering support and professional development to languages teachers in English schools and FE colleges.
Qa will conduct over 5000 CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) surveys to assess:
- the quality of the training centres
- the impact on teaching quality
- teacher awareness of the centres and their resources
- the impact on pupils’ willingness to study languages
To be conducted in partnership with SQW, the telephone research will provide robust evidence on the programme’s effectiveness and inform the development of Links into Languages until at least 2011.
