Qa was commissioned by GiPA UK Ltd to conduct 3000 face to face (CAPI) surveys with drivers across the UK for their Annual worldwide Car Driver Survey 2016/17.
GiPA undertakes market research in several sectors relating to the markets of maintenance, repair and after-sales for cars, mopeds/motorbikes & heavy goods vehicles. They specialise in the knowledge and measurement (evaluation) of the after sales markets and they use the data collected from their Annual Car Driver Survey GiPA to supply market information to a range of clients worldwide in the automotive sector including: Car Manufacturers, Part Manufacturers, Tools Suppliers, Lubricant Manufacturers/Suppliers, Tyre Manufacturers, Service Providers including insurance & vehicle leasing and distribution.
The Annual car Driver Survey is designed to understand trends in driver behaviour and attitudes towards brands, products and services. The survey which, is an average of 30-minutes duration, provides a comprehensive look at:
- where and how drivers buy/source their cars
- where and how they maintain them
- drivers’ attitudes to warranties
- typically how much they spend on repairs/services
- their attitudes to different brands e.g. tyres, oils, plugs etc
- attitudes to future technologies/services
Quotas for this large-scale field project were based on geographical region and UK country, age, gender, social economic grade and town size (London Borough, Other Urban – 250K + population, Urban – 100-250K population and towns with less than 100K population).
Qa provided consultancy on the wording, scripting and interviewer instructions to make the survey as clear as possible to maximise quality responses. We completed just over 3000 surveys from mid- January 2017 until the end of March 2017. All surveys were completed on CAPI and weekly updates were provided indicating the number of surveys completed and a matrix update.
The final results will be reported on by GiPA and supplied to their clients across the automotive sector.
