Imperial War Museum North awards contract to Qa

Public consultation on five potential designs for the external space at the Imperial War Museum North (IWMN) is now being conducted by Qa.

Qualitative in-depth interviews are to be carried out on site with family and adult visitors meeting a mix of age, gender, race and access criteria. The interviews will investigate the positives / negatives of the five designs, their appropriateness for the museum, and their likely impact on visitors.

Stakeholders from a range of local marketing and tourism organisations which may be affected by the changes at the IWMN will also be consulted. These include Marketing Manchester and The Lowry.

The research will be completed and the findings presented within two weeks of receiving the proposed designs.

The findings and their implications are to be discussed in an informal workshop with senior IWMN staff. This meeting will help inform the judging panel’s eventual choice of design.
