In order to understand employers’ perceptions of Southampton University, Qa Research undertook a series of qualitative interviews to inform the Southampton University employer engagement strategy.
Specifically, the research explored in detail the barriers to businesses accessing the Career Destinations service to inform the delivery of this service and ensure it continued to meet the needs of local and national employers.
Conducting the research
Qa created a sample of relevant regional and national employers, and engaged them in in-depth telephone interviews to explore their perceptions of the University, the teaching quality within the University and their opinions on the students graduating. A total of 20 interviews were undertaken with key decisions makers in a range of businesses.
Each interview was transcribed and findings were reported in the form of a short overview report including conclusions and recommendations.
