The UK’s leading woodland conservation charity has commissioned Qa to conduct a three-year study into the impact of its VisitWoods initiative.
Created by the Woodland Trust in 2009, VisitWoods aims to bridge the gap between our ancient woodlands and the people who could benefit from access to them.
Qa will carry out a quantitative and qualitative baseline study in the autumn to investigate the current awareness and frequency of visiting woods including the triggers which persuade people to visit woodlands and the barriers which can dissuade visitors ahead of the launch of a communications campaign to encourage increased usage.
The baseline study will be followed by a further two waves of research from 2011 – 2013 again comprising qualitative and quantitative research to evaluate the success (or otherwise) of the project.
