Helping Man GPM assess social housing tenants’ satisfaction levels

Following government promises to make sure social housing tenants are safe, listened to, and live in good quality housing, the Regulator of Social Housing introduced the Tenant Satisfaction Measures Standard in April 2023. This required social housing providers to submit information about its performance as a landlord. Man GPM commissioned Qa to collect some of this information from their tenants using quantitative perception surveys.

Approach

Throughout our approach, we adhered closely to the detailed requirements outlined by the Regulator of Social Housing. The survey and the sampling were designed with care to ensure we generated accurate Tenant Satisfaction Measures, and they aligned with the requirements. Qa conducted surveys online and over the telephone to obtain feedback from a wide range of tenants.

Outcome

The data from the tenant perception surveys was used to generate Tenant Satisfaction Measures, which enabled Man GPM to submit information about their performance as a social housing provider to the Regulator of Social Housing. Our research also helped Man GPM understand the satisfaction levels of different groups of their tenants. The survey data was additionally shared with researchers at Sheffield Hallam University, who used the findings to feed into a wider study into the impact of new housing development.
